Stream Huxley & Shenoda’s “Chatsworth Sound EP”

Producers trying to recreate “classic” house music is nothing new in 2013. For those who actually lived through the prime periods of the late eighties and nineties house scene, many records of today tend to sound like poorly rehashed tracks with a crucial element missing…the soul. Then there are those producers who really hit the mark with their current releases i.e Huxley and Shenoda. The “Chatsworth Sound EP” is their forthcoming contribution on Defected Records. Embodying bits of a golden age New York and Chicago feel, “I Don’t Know” is a look at the now along with the past rather than either or. Big bassline infiltrates the song while sampled vocals weaves in and out atop spacey keys. “Premier” plays contrast to the A side, keeping the bassline tucked in the background with foreground being the keys and chopped vocals.
