Minnesota-based band Communist Daughter return with their new indie-folk single, ‘Balboa Bridge’, a reference to the Cabrillo Bridge located in San Diego, California. Gorgeous and breezy in sound, the song’s theme is a dark examination of suicidal thoughts tied into addiction and mental illness, a topic that band leader John Solomon has had personal dealings with. Touching and powerful in the same breath, the song is taken from Communist Daughter’s forthcoming album The Cracks That Built The Wall, out October 21. Have a listen.
