SPQR Unveil Their Hard-Hitting Single ‘Our Mother’s Sons’

Liverpool band SPQR have stepped up with their new single ‘Our Mother’s Sons’. With the content revolving around issues pertaining to self-doubt, the production packs a punch with hard, chunky guitar riffs, thunderous drumming and an in your face vocal performance that hit like a stone blow to the chest. There is a great transition towards the end of the song, giving the cut a slightly more delicate feel. Produced by Margo Broom, ‘Our Mother’s Sons’ follows the band’s 2018 tune ‘Blood Pump’.

Discussing the song, SPQR’s Peter Harrison said:

“It’s a heavier one, but then a really gentle one too. I think it captures those opposing mental states well: the burst of anger and frustration that needs to come out, and then the quiet contemplation of why.

The main theme of this song comes from thinking of the people that I know who are all very special and talented, but who have to wade through all this horrible shit that makes them struggle and doubt themselves. You know when you see the lovely things in people but they never will? That. Seems like a theme among the people I love.”
