QoA 4th Anniversary party w/ Robert Owens at Queen of Hoxton, March 23, 2013, London

The Queen of Hoxton is excited to welcome two of our favourite DJs to head up this birthday special. Robert Owens is much-loved among music industry boffins and house aficionados alike, having wrapped his silky vocals around many a track as well as producing, songwriting and DJing. Coming into his own during the 80’s golden era of Chicago house, he is often referred to as truly defining house music. One of his epic moments during this time was the track ‘Tears’ by Frankie Knuckles and Satoshi Tomiie on which his unique vocals feature. And with him still dazzling crowds across Europe, Asia and America with his blend of deep house and electronica, we’re definitely in for a treat.

From Chicago house to French electronica, Alan Braxe is a true pioneer of the genre having produced one of the most recognisable tunes ever with Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter; ‘Music Sounds Better With You’. The international smash hit spent weeks at the top of the charts and remains as much of a dancefloor filler today as it was back then. This track paved the way for Alan being highly in demand as a remixer for the likes of Björk, Beyoncé and many more. When Alan isn’t touring the world as an international DJ, he is running his ever-expanding label Vulture and supporting some of the freshest and most exciting artists around.

And to round off the line up nicely, Leeds via London based duo, Voyeur join the bill. Having received some serious airplay last year from Radio 1 with their remix for Bombay Bicycle Club, the boys have been shot into the dance music stratosphere after appearing alongside Kerri Chandler at London’s Boiler Room. Since their debut EP release, Voyeur have been championed by Roska, Marcus Nasty and Pete Tong, and with new material and remixes on the way, the future certainly looks bright for this young talent.
