Brighton band The Impellers return with another invigorating dose of raw soul and funk, solidifying the group as masterminds of the sound. “My Certainty” is the third LP by The Impellers which delves into specific song structuring and experimentation without losing the core groove of dance floor driven boogie and smokey, late night soul. While it would be easy to re-create a sound of the ‘days of old’, The Impellers simply connect the dots between 70s funk, 90s nu-soul and the now, while defining a sound of their own, making them true aficionados of the scene. “My Certainty” is out June 16 on Légère Recordings.
