Although Beth Jeans Houghton had an eight year run with her band Houghton & The Hooves of Destiny, those days are now a thing of the past and the current focus is her project Du Blonde. Whilst there may be a quirkiness to the name, Houghton’s latest work reflects more than simple cheekiness but rather the stretching out of expression and the awareness of the idea that creatively, she can do whatever she chooses.

After unveiling her tracks ‘Black Flag’ and ‘Mind Is On My Mind’ over the past couple of months, Houghton shares a new song entitled ‘Hunter’, taken from her forthcoming album Welcome Back To Milk, out May 18th on Mute. Using the sound of hazy blues rock and mellow soul to air out emotions, the song reminds listeners that underneath the “in your face” visuals still lie amazingly strong vocals.
