Preview Commodo’s “$pace Cash” EP

There have been ill words circulating around the music press that the sound of dubstep is pretty much dead. These particular remarks seem to be premature considering that the Deep Medi label has always and still continues to expand the genre into different territories. Commodo’s latest EP “$pace Cash” is an example of taking pieces of the dubstep blueprint and restructuring it to sound as fresh as ever.

The title cut of the EP is an off-synth, big bounce track that sits comfortably in the beat producers circuit while “Straight Reptilian” ventures into the dark dubstep arena, spilling out stretched, sub heavy bass and on running drum program in the vein of Digital Mystikz and Kryptic Minds. “Wish” is a true gem in the EP with its spaced out synths, projecting a clear representation of what futuristic swing should sound like.

Commodo’s “$pace Cash” EP contrasts any notion that the genre of dubstep has died but rather magnifies the fact that he, along with the Deep Medi roster is carrying it in a progressive manner.

Commodo “$pace Cash” is out 29th July.
