Mexico City-based band Mint Field are slated to release their forthcoming album Aprender a Ser on Oct 27th via the felte imprint. Having already dropped their single ‘El Suspiro Cambia Todo’ last month, Mint Field now share their latest video for the song ‘Orquídea’.
‘Orquídea’ is directed by Rebeca Becerra Cusi and Sabrina Mercado Ocampo. The dreamy visuals capture the essence of that which once was in life and when the ending has been reached, where those spirits and memories go afterwards. The atmospheric nature of the shoegaze tune coincides perfectly with the visuals.
Regarding the single, Mint Field stated:
“Treasure, longing for the moment of seeing an orchid grow full size. Orchids are on the most delicate flowers and most difficult to take care of. Watching when an orchid opens is a beautiful gift.”
In terms of the video, directors Rebeca Becerra Cusi and Sabrina Mercado Ocampo said:
“We wanted to get closer to the beauty of the ephemeral, like the life of a flower. Love, spaces, people, have an end, and when they’re gone, they take us with it.”
