As of recent, many electronic producers have delved head first into the sounds of deep house, but like anything that is done too many times, it begins to get a bit dull. Berlin producer and DJ Marc Poppck has proven to avoid any characteristic of the such. The “Inner Conflict” EP explores the core of deep house, forcing listeners to take an audible journey through sonic depth and beautiful rhythms. The title track is a true cleansing with its spaced out synths that lays comfortably like a blanket of warmth, deeming by many what would be considered intelligent electronica. “Relaxing the Soul” is more of an upbeat and semi bouncy house cut that still holds firmly to a cosmic feel meeting perfectly in the middle of danceable and thought provoking. Poppck’s track “When You Are Near” is an ethereal wonderland of bliss that at times makes you forget that you are indeed listening to a house song with the exception of the 4×4 kick. Added to the EP is the ThermalBear remix of “Inner Conflict” which lies more on the tech spectrum but with sprinkles of the original chopped up for a separate identity. Marc Poppck’s “Inner Conflict” EP is a true jewel that plays brilliantly from start to end which can truly be appreciated during these current times.
