Los Angeles-based singer Luna Shadows has shared her a cover version of Dua Lipa’s track ‘Be The One’. Restructuring the song into a hypnotic and atmospheric electronica pop gem, the tune was produced by Luna Shadowa herself along with The Naked and Famous’ Thom Powers, not to mention Ryan Shanahan.
Touching on the cover version, Luna Shadows said:
“I booked my first show at School Night in Los Angeles in 2016, an event which is a kind of ‘rite of passage’ for new artists. In preparation, I went a few months early to check out the venue where I stumbled upon a rising British artist making her LA debut. I was particularly moved by her song, ‘Be the One,’ which sounded like it could’ve accidentally been left off Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Rumors.’ We made our debuts weeks apart, and since then it has been an absolute inspiration seeing Dua Lipa’s career flourish into an international success. Since our first shows, I’ve been running as fast as I can to create my parallel universe in the indie world while celebrating the success of another female musician from afar. The world I want to live in is one where female musicians support and celebrate one another, so I decided to spin a dreamy interpretation of this song, which represents a lot to me and has remained near and dear to my heart for all of these years.”
