Over the past three years, East London singer Rachel Foxx has released a number of blazing singles including ‘Happen To Me’, ‘Wish’ and ‘Is It Me?’ just to name a few. Making her return in 2020, Foxx steps forth with her latest cut ‘Progress’. Placing lush, jazzy piano play atop a drilling bass line and slow thumping Hip-Hop drums, the track revolves around the bettering of self and stepping away from things that aren’t beneficial. Rachel Foxx’s soulful vocals combined with a swaying delivery makes ‘Progress’ unquestionably addicting.
Regarding the track, Rachel Foxx said:
“Progress is about building yourself up, looking after yourself, focusing on your mental health and cutting all the unhealthy stuff off. I say ‘we haven’t spoken not one time, but the pleasure is all mine’… because I don’t want to talk to you anyway! I’m reminiscing the love and good times, but also how many times I was taken for a fool, how many things I let slide, and how I am no longer that person. I am working on myself and how much I’ve grown.”
