London-based artist GoodThing steps up with a new single dubbed ‘I Like The Way I Feel’. This is the title track for his latest EP which is out now.
Creating a sophisticated mix of disco, lush soul, art pop and more, the slow rolling cut quickly acts as ear candy with entrancing percussion, an easing guitar riff, and a thumping bass line. GoodThing delivers low key vocals that add a nice seductive feel. This is a great window into the extended play. What a tune!
Touching on ‘I Like The Way I Feel’, GoodThing stated:
“I like the way I feel” sample that opens the track, this single is a celebration of feeling good, moving on pure intuition against the odds, and the power of self belief. With shades of disco groove, electronic, and golden era hip hop sampling it’s a homage to trusting your gut and following whatever makes you feel good. Recorded in a day with Callum McGuinness at Moss Studios, lyrically the song explores the tension and irony between dreaming big and the ways we can unknowingly hold ourselves back from getting there. “You know I would if I could but I struggle to change.”
