Listen to Gold Baby’s ‘Betty’

North London band Gold Baby have shared their new track ‘Betty’, taken from the group’s upcoming EP ‘Rabbits’, out March 26th. The song follows their previously released single ‘Captain Dorego’, which dropped last month.

A celebration of femininty, ‘Betty’ is a gorgeous indie pop cut that rolls with breezy guitar liners and triumpant drums operating underneath the easing vocals of singer Siân Alex. Towards the end of the song there are even horns that creep into the mix. A tune that definitely needs to be put on repeat, you can stream ‘Betty’ down at the bottom.

Touching on the track, Siân Alex said:

“Betty is a representation of all that is beautiful and feminine. She’s like a Disney princess and I’m the creepy kid watching her, all mixed up about whether I want her to be my mum, or my girlfriend, or whether I want to be her. She reminds me of my mum and I’m thinking about the ways that we’re different, wondering who I’m supposed to be growing up into. An amalgamation of memories and fantasy, Betty is an exploration of identity told through a tantrum: that’s not who I am, that’s not who I am!”
