Norwich duo Let’s Eat Grandma have shared a new cover version of Nick Drake’s song ‘From The Morning’. The track is taken from The Endless Coloured Ways – The Songs Of Nick Drake, a collection of Nick Drake tunes reinterpreted by various artists. Let’s Eat Grandma’s reworking of ‘From The Morning’ is also released as shared vinyl single with Fontaines D.C.’s cover of ‘Cello Song’ on the flip side.

For their rendition Let’s Eat Grandma deliver a tender synth-pop makeover that is polished with an 80s glaze. This version is a brilliant and creative compliment to Drake’s original acoustic folk original. You can stream ‘From The Morning’ below.

The Endless Coloured Ways – The Songs Of Nick Drake is out July 7th on Chrysalis Records.

Regarding the single, Let’s Eat Grandma’s Jenny Hollingworth stated:

“It has meant a lot to me to cover ‘From The Morning’. I’ve always thought of it as the most hopeful song on Pink Moon and listening to its lyrics about nature showing us the beauty in the light and darkness and how life and death are connected helped me to find acceptance and comfort after loss. Thank you so much to David Wrench for working on it with me.”
