With Kendrick Lamar unanimously decided the winner in his war with Drake, the Compton native has not taken his foot off the neck of his opponent since the release of his Number 1 hit song ‘Not Like Us’. Not only has the track been featured on everything from local news weather reports to sports games, the record has been playing out of cars, homes, businesses, and pretty much every place imaginable…worldwide! K-Dot stuck the nail in the coffin when he performed live for his Pop Out Ken & Friends concert on the 4th of July in which he did ‘Not Like Us’ six times, literally to a sold out show at L.A.’s iconic The Forum. Kendrick is now driving over the corpse with the unveiling of the official ‘Not Like Us’ video.
Now everyone knows that Kendrick Lamar’s videos are top tier, and of course for ‘Not Like Us’, the beyond impressive imagery doesn’t stop. The vid features appearances from Los Angeles dance legend and community activist Tommy the Clown along with the T-Squad dancers, the entire TDE crew, NBA player and Compton-born DeMar DeRozan, DJ Mustard, and more. The highlight of the video is the scene in which Kendrick and his wife Whitney are with their kids dancing in a living room, clearly debunking Drake’s lines regarding disfunction in their relationship. To add insult to injury, Kendrick is also in scenes with long time creative partner Dave Free (who directed ‘Not Like Us’ with him), which discredits Drake’s raps about Free allegedly being the real father of Lamar’s child. All in all Kendrick is riding sky high with this.
