In a realistic article for the Huffington Post, Savages front woman Jehnny Beth goes into detail about the joy and the not so impressive money earned with touring the world in Savages. Expressing her gratitude to the fans that have supported the band, Beth states that “We have enough money to survive and make a second record exactly the way we want to. We are lucky, yes, but I mean for example this job doesn’t give us the possibility to buy a house if we wanted to, or to start a family if we wanted to, to do what people you know do, when they have a life and their work is successful.” She also describes the feeling of Iggy Pop playing the Savages’ song “Shut Up” on his Nitty Gritty radio show, as well as giving up alcohol, cigarettes and coffee.
