Stockholm vocalist JÁNA makes her return with a new track titled ‘Lotus’, the follow-up to her previously released song ‘Wild Roses’. Produced and co-written by Little Dragon’s Erik Bodin, the single touches on delving beneath the physicality of beauty and exploring one’s depth and inner core. Musically the production is a mellow R&B tune with clear touches of jazz embedded. ‘Lotus’ is taken from JÁNA’s upcoming Flowerworks EP, slated to land July 3rd.
In a press statement about the single, JÁNA wrote:
“My friend and I spoke about only being loved when showing off the ‘final product’, or ‘the perfect version of yourself’. The Lotus is a flower that blooms in the most ugliest places. It can be seen as a metaphor to allow people to grow – something beautiful might grow from a less than beautiful situation.”
