East London outfit Humane have been rapidly making a strong name for themselves in UK music scene. Dropping their incredible single ‘Kill Time’ last month, the boys have now unleashed their latest tune dubbed ‘Penny Let Go’.
What you get here is slick indie rock tune that whilst upbeat in tempo, has a darkness swirling around its instrumentation. There is also an underlying post-punk vibe to the song that gives it edge. With a memorable hook, great vocal work, and all-around killer production, ‘Penny Let Go’ is a sure-shot winner.
Regarding the track, Humane stated:
“The hook to this song came to me whilst driving to the studio, and we had written most of the song within the hour. It was quick so I wasn’t thinking about what it meant, but I enjoy the hook’s ambiguity,” Max says. “It could be about money or a girl, but in my head it’s more of a statement about ego death and a surrender, an instruction to let go when you’re not sure what it is you’re holding onto.”
