Hailing from North London is the sibling duo Hot Stamp. Having worked the local music scene for the past year and a half, they now make their official debut with the song ‘Josephine’.
With the content based on a scary friendship that takes a turn for the worst, sonically the track is a brilliant melting pot of new wave, art pop, and grand rock & roll. With a sing-along chorus that works like gang busters, ‘Josephine’ is a definitely a mountainous introduction of a more than promising band.
Regarding ‘Josephine’, Hot Stamp mentioned:
“We really enjoyed magnifying the intensity of emotions with this track to create something that feels like your favourite memory stabbing you in the back. It was written and recorded in a single day and almost felt therapeutic to write, we often throw all our experiences and anecdotes into the fire and see what jumps out as most resonant with the story. In this case, almost everything is autobiographical except for the murder.”
