Austin band Holy Wave are scheduled to release their new album I’m DADA on July 10th via Suicide Squeeze Records. Along with the announcement, the group have also dropped their latest single ‘dewey’s dirge’.

‘dewey’s dirge’ is an easy and mellow indie offering that slowly builds up to a punchy psychedelic piece before reverting back to calmer sonics.

Along with the song, Holy Wave have also shared accompanying visuals to the single, which you can watch below.

Touching on the track, Holy Wave’s Ryan Fuson stated:

“‘dewey’s dirge’ is as much a song about things changing as it is about wanting to change them. It’s about wishing you knew a world long gone, and at times, resenting those who were part of it. We wanted the different parts of the song to reflect the lyrical content of each section, which is why there are tempo changes and major tonal shifts. In my head, I imagined being in this perfect time and place, only to watch it become hellish without a moment’s notice. I wanted to make a song that felt like that.”
