On Janet Jackson’s twitter, her tweet read “Heavy D brought so much Joy into our lives through his energetic brilliance. I’m going to miss him.” Mogul Russell Simmons wrote an article regarding his thoughts on Heavy D at Global Grind. Super producer Timbaland tweeted “the passing of heavy d really got me messed up”. Writer Kevin Powell wrote “Heavy D was a class act, a gentleman. He reached out and offered me support during my 2010 Congressional campaign. Before that always mutual respect through the years.” Music giant Quincy Jones tweeted his feelings on the passing of Heavy D by writing “I am devastated to hear the news about my little brother Heavy D. He was a talented musician and actor…” Anyone who has ever met Heavy D in person or has simply spotted him out and about in public can attest to his laidback and gentleman demeanor. While his physical may no longer be here, his legacy and the amount of love that millions around the world had for him will forever live.
