Making her debut in May of this year with the track ‘Honey’, followed by her second single ‘Ghost’, which landed in September, Copenhagen artist Emily Bowen has released her debut album Hate Me For This.
The 9-song LP finds Bowen delving into topics ranging from sexuality and acceptance to the tales of a friend’s ongoing self-destruction, and more. Using an indie pop palette as the production soundscape, Emily Bowen doesn’t shy away from musical experimentation, which is often highly fitting for each chosen subject matter.
Along with the LP, Emily Bowen has also released her latest single titled ‘Agnes’. You can stream the track below.
Touching on the inspiration behind the single, Emily Bowen mentioned:
“I met Agnes a couple summers ago when I was backpacking around Europe. We sat on a couch and talked for three hours-sucked into each other’s worlds in that moment that only the two of usshared and had together. Agnes moved on to Paris, and we’ve been strangers to each other ever since. But I took the moment along with me, bittersweet and beautiful, like the lifelong exercise of being honest with yourself.”
