Eddie Fowlkes & Loco Dice Unveil Their Collaborative Single ‘Boogie Mandroid’

Detroit techno icon Eddie Fowlkes and renowned producer Loco Dice have joined forces for their forthcoming collaborative EP D-Town Playaz, landing August 7th on En Couleur. One of the songs taken from the new record is the cut ‘Boogie Mandroid’. A dance-powered etching of techno, the throbbing 4×4 drums are paired with husky synth bass tones as added percussion fill the space between the two. There are also vocal samples of the legendary Newark Hip-Hop group Lords of the Underground. Dark, rich and utterly grooving, ‘Boogie Mandroid’ is a pure scorcher.

Loco Dice has also dropped a short mini-documentary of the history behind the collaboration with Eddie Fowlkes. Filmed in Detroit, you can watch it below.

Touching on the collaboration, Loco Dice said:

“In my early days I was a huge Eddie Fowlkes fan and I played his Detroit Wax releases a lot. When I finally met him in Detroit years later it was clear that there was a bond between us which lead us to making this EP together.”
