With the cost of living continuing to escalate in London, the ever problematic housing crisis and the exodus of Londoners who can no longer afford to stay, siblings Eastern Barbers have addressed the issue of gentrification in South East London in their new single ‘Blue Flakes’. The mellow, slow-rolling soul/jazz instrumentation is coupled with commentary of things that are no longer the same and the clearer understanding of the changes as one gets older. The lyrics also bask in the more simple days of life through the eyes of a child. A fantastic handing by the pair, ‘Blue Flakes’ is currently out now. Have a listen.
