Another blow hits the music industry as the sad news of French Hip-Hop and electronic producer DJ Mehdi’s passing on Sept. 13, 2011 has rapidly spread. Born Mehdi Faveris-Essadi, the 34 year old artist made a name for himself in the French Hip-Hop scene and later with Ed Banger Records helping to spread an electro sound within France and abroad. Groups who Mehdi has produced includes Manu Key, 113 and Booba, just to name a few. He later rose to fame with the work that he did with Daft Punk as well as Cassius. Various reports have been circulating regarding the cause of his death. Some outlets are reporting that Mehdi and friends were on top of the roof of his home, when suddenly it collapsed causing fatal injuries to the producer. Others who were with him also suffered injuries. Mehdi shall forever be remembered and missed.
