After a successful run of parties in Autumn 2012 hosting the likes of Get Darker, Girls Music, Critical Sound and Digital Soundboy, Basslaced heads to South London for an excursion in the roots of UK club music spanning Reggae, D&B, Garage and more all under one roof at Vauxhall’s Fire nightclub.
Leading the line-up is the most recent addition to BBC 1Xtra’s roster, David Rodigan whose knowledge and passion for Reggae music has seen him spread the gospel of the genre around the world and resulted in him being honoured with an MBE in 2012 for his services to broadcasting. Rodigan has built up a reputation in clubland of bringing the house down with his barrage of exclusive dubplates and his penchant for getting on the microphone as if he were in a real soundclash so expect nothing less on the night.
Joining him will be D&B founding father Shy FX who can also be credited for bringing forth new talent from the UK underground regardless of genre such as B.Traits and Dismantle via his prolific Digital Soundboy label. Legendary UK vocalist Ms Dynamite will be on hand for a live PA and with a back catalogue of hits spanning over a decade ranging from her seminal debut Booo! to more recent club staples like Wile Out and What You Talking About? it’s clear to see why she’s still making waves after all these years.
DJ EZ has always stayed true to his love of UK Garage and as a recent outing on the Boiler Room proved his mixing technique and selection is unparalleled. He’ll be joining the dots between the roots of Garage and Grime to the latest sounds of UK Bass from the likes of Redlight and Lil’ Silva. Basslaced residents DJ Take and Jack Swift will be on hand once again to warm things up on the night and will be assisted by hosts AD, Majestic and Inja.
