Dark Horse Records Share Joe Strummer’s Acoustic Version of ‘Junco Partner’

With Dark Horse Records prepping the release of the upcoming Joe Strummer collection album ASSEMBLY, which is out March 26, the team have shared an acoustic version of the song ‘Junco Partner’, recorded at home by the singer and musician.

The original version of ‘Junco Partner’ was recorded in 1951 by James Waynes with later versions covered by Professor Longhair, Dr. John, James Booker, and Richard Hayes, just to name a few.

Joe Strummer first recorded his version of the track with his early 70s band The 101ers. He later remade the track with his band The Clash, which landed on their 1980 triple album Sandinista!.

Dark Horse Records have also dropped an animated video to accompany Joe Strummer’s acousic version of ‘Junco Partner’ which you can stream down below.
