Siblings Clementine Valentine are set to release their new album The Coin That Broke The Fountain Floor on August 25th via the Flying Nun label. Sharing their track ‘The Rope’ last month, the duo now unveils their new single and video ‘Selenelion’.
Directed by Britt Walton, the visuals follow a guy who roams throughout the city of Hong Kong at night whilst appearing to be in agony of sort. There are also clips of Clementine Valentine performing in a club to a captivated audience who blissfully sway to the beautiful ambient folk meets pop tune.
Regarding the track, Clementine Valentine stated:
“Selenelion’ is a type of lunar eclipse where both the sun and moon appear in the sky at the same time. As a story the song is based on aspects of countless old folk songs and fables. A star-crossed dynamic. The meeting of a myological creature and a mortal, always ending in tragedy. —- The video by Britt Walton follows the same doomed scenario, set in a place dear to us – Hong Kong, where we grew up.”
