Press Release:

With a lineup that boasts Circo Loco favourites, red-hot producers and some of 2013’s brightest stars, Circo Loco New Year’s Day 2014 comes to London promising to be nothing short of incredible. On January 1 The Coronet in London plays host to a collection of artists that could only be brought together by the masterminds at Circo Loco. And with Davide Squillace, Tale of Us, Damian Lazarus, Lee Foss, Richy Ahmed, System of Survival, Clive Henry and Robert James playing nine full party-hard hours, this is one not to miss.

Circo Loco DC-10 resident Davide Squillace heads up this very special NYD 2014 lineup. Through a back catalogue of seminal releases, an inclusion into the Essential Mix series and the creation of his own Hideout imprint, Davide has become a figurehead of modern house. His This and That project that combines music, art and culture to provide a platform for artists to develop a host of creative projects. By helping to craft a place for producers and visual artists to work with free reign, Davide has proven himself as not only a producer, but as an innovator within the scene. As a DJ he is untouchable – look out.

Berlin-based duo Tale of Us have risen to the forefront of dance music within recent years. With the release of their debut EP ‘Dark Song’ through Visionquest, the pair began to craft a unique sound of their own. They’ve released tracks through some of house and techno’s most pivotal labels, including Kompakt, Life and Death and Richie Hawtin’s Minus imprint. This year has seen them produce one of the summer’s must-have tracks in ‘Another Earth’.

As founder of Crosstown Rebels, Damian Lazarus has played an integral part in the recent rise of house music, releasing tracks from the most popular artists of the moment, from Art Department and Ali Love, to Jamie Jones and TEED. As a musician he is devoted to “seeking out and celebrating the energetic”, while his DJ exploits have allowed him to take in the sights of Burning Man, Electric Daisy Carnival, Berghain and Circo Loco’s Ibiza closing party.

Alongside Jamie Jones and Infinity Ink, as Hot Natured Lee Foss hit the UK charts in 2012 with the acclaimed ‘Benediction’. Having gained a wider audience with remixes for Rudimental and Lana Del Ray, he still remains forever in the underground. Through his Hot Creations imprint, Lee has helped shape the careers of Danny Daze, Russ Yallop and Miguel Campbell among others.

Taking inspiration from disco, techno, funk and hip hop, Richy Ahmed has travelled around the world as a part of the Hot Natured collective. His latest release on Rinse has demonstrated a unique ability to stick to the unconventional. As original Circo Loco residents, having played beneath the banner for over a decade, System of Survival have produced a sound that has been moulded by the dancefloor.

With a career spanning more than 20 years, there’s little that Clive Henry hasn’t accomplished. While his venture into music began with acid house in the late-1980s, he has become a staple part of the Crosstown Rebels family alongside his ever-popular DC-10 residency. With the release of his 2010 EP ‘Sleep Moods’ Robert James began his ascent to becoming one of the most exciting and in demand talents of house music. With yet another residency on the White Isle, 2013 has proven a momentous year. Robert James has
travelled the world alongside Hot Creations labelmates Jamie Jones and Lee Foss.

From humble beginnings in 1999 Circo Loco has risen to the forefront of clubbing culture. For over a decade Circo Loco has welcomed some of the world’s biggest acts and held some truly unforgettable parties, becoming a household name for house music. Having spent 2013 hosting stages at festivals, living up to its legendary status among the revellers of DC-10, and enjoying some of the most impressive lineups in the scene, Circo Loco aren’t set to slow down anytime soon. And as Circo Loco celebrates its 15th
birthday in 2014 it looks like another big year, and it’s only fitting they start as they mean to go on.
