Tendertwin, the music moniker of Bilge Nur Yilmaz, is ready to make headway with the release of her debut EP Ship Argo. Landing July 5th, Yilmaz has also shared her new single ‘Tidal Insomniac’.
‘Tidal Insomniac’ is a gentle folk offering that combines elements of glitchy electronica and jazz. The production is lush and cinematic, with the Tendertwin’s vocals operating in the jazz tradition, fostering a really warm recording that sticks.
Tendertwin has also shared an accompanying music video, directed by Logan de Raspide Ross, which you can watch below.
Regarding the single, Tendertwin mentioned:
“‘Tidal Insomniac’ is a song about the conflicted dynamics of desire — capturing that strange feeling when you desperately want to love someone, and the irrational distance you might go to make them love you back. With poignant lyrics such as “I know why I felt too inclined to let it all bleed” and “forming a solid ghost.”
