Having dropped their single ‘Tower’ back in October along with the announcement to their new film and soundtrack The Runner, Northampton-based pair Boy Harsher have unveiled another track taken from the upcoming LP titled ‘Give Me a Reason’.
Whilst their dark signature is firmly imprinted in the song, the band leans more in a pop direction. With stark synths coinciding with icy bass tones, Jae Matthews’ ghostly vocal delivery adds a layer of seduction to the cut. ‘Give Me a Reason’ also contains pumping, dance-driven drum programming that creates a juxtaposition from ‘Tower’, which was beatless. Below is a stream of the tune.
Touching on the track, Boy Harsher mentioned:
“We wanted to write something that encapsulates that feeling of yearning — the way we feel when we catch eyes from across the room. Our music can be flirty and crushable, and it’s fun to play with that.”
