André 3000 Set to Release New Album ‘New Blue Sun’

André 3000 has finally announced a new album. While many hip-hop fans have been practically begging for an LP from the artist, who is one half of the iconic duo Outkast, the irony is that it’s not a hip-hop record. Titled New Blue Sun, the album is completely instrumental with 3 Stacks playing flute, something that many people around the world have witnessed via short clips or pics posted on social media of the creative randomly trekking the globe with the instrument in hand. New Blue Sun is scheduled to land November 17th.

What started out as jam sessions with L.A. percussionist and producer Carlos Niño, transformed into a full length album which also features musicians Surya Botofasina, and Nate Mercereau.

Currently there are no singles, however André 3000 spoke to NPR’s Rodney Carmichael for an in-depth interview regarding the album, moving to Los Angeles, his well-being, and more. You can check out the interview here.
