Alice Phoebe Lou Returns with ‘You and I’

Alice Phoebe Lou has returned with her new track ‘You and I’. The single also marks the debut release of a self-produced track by the South Africa-born, Germany-based artist.

‘You and I’ is a stripped back folk-driven cut that is tender and beautiful. There are no gimmicks or grand sound design thrown on this. It’s just a gorgeous interaction between Alice Phoebe Lou’s gentle vocal delivery and the dreamy instrumentation.

Touching on the single, Alice Phoebe Lou mentioned:

“‘You and I’ speaks of longing and surrendering in love, it’s a confession and a prayer, a declaration that this is where we are and want to be and let’s stop holding back and dive deeper into everything together. It asks the other to let go of what has happened before and to be here now and dream up the future together. It’s about telling one another what our needs are so we can be there for each other in a deeper, more fundamental way.

After five band records, I’ve opened my treasure chest of personal storytelling songs that I’ve built up over a decade. Songs that didn’t make it into other albums, some songs I never thought would see the light of day. I am embarking on the brave and thrilling journey of recording these songs as they are, with love and playfulness, simple and all my own. Leaning into imperfection and taking inspiration from some of my biggest influences who have made timeless folk acoustic albums.”
