With a new creative director at the house of Yves Saint Laurent, the French brand is now undergoing a name change courtesy of the newly appointed Hedi Slimane. Yves will be taken from the name and the company will be restructured as Saint Laurent Paris. According to reports, the name will become effective with the release of Slimane’s new women’s collection for 2013, however, the YSL logo will stay in tact. There has been mixed feelings regarding the new branding of the internationally famous company started by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé in 1962. Upon the name change, Slimane is also relocating the design studio to his current location of Los Angeles. We shall see what the future looks like for the iconic YSL.
