Longtime London producer Dave Angel has had quite a career in the world of techno and electronica in general. Releasing remixes and original production since the top of the 90s, he has carved out a name as a true innovator in the scene. Dave Angel now returns with the release of his new album A Time And Place via none other than R&S Records, the label in which he first dropped his 1st Voyage EP on back in 1991.
Comprised of 15 tracks, A Time And Place finds Dave Angel tapping into his jazz and soul roots, all the while infusing electronica for a truly sophisticated release. Of course he pulls production out of his techno and house bag, using the sounds for soulful and easing rhythms that that simply feels good to the spirit. While many of the songs land between 4 and even 6 minutes in length, each falls seamlessly in place to complete the puzzle of the full listening journey. Features on the album include trumpeter Steve Waterman, Chicago legend Robert Owens, musician Merv Carswell, and Dave Angel’s daughter Aurii Sky. One beautiful LP, it’s safe to say that Dave Angel has released one of the best albums of 2026.
