Omar Releases New Album ‘Brighter The Days’

It’s hard to believe that Omar’s debut album There’s Nothing Like This was released in 1990. As one of the staples of the UK soul movement, the multi-disciplined artist (Omar Lyefook MBE) has literally been a part of multiple genres and sub-genres from r&b to acid jazz to neo-soul to Latin and on and on. Having stood the test of time for decades, he has now released his ninth studio album Brighter The Days via Impressive Collective / BBE Music.

With a whopping 18 tracks on the album, musically Omar delivers the consistent and high-bar soul, jazz, and even Hip-Hop beat undertones that he has become a master of. Guests on the record include Eric Roberson, Raheem DeVaughn, Giggs, India Arie, Ledisi, Jeru The Damaja, and more. With the production being rich, full, and grand, operating in the traditionalist sense of soul artists of yesteryear yet never shy of experimentation, this LP is for lovers of music who desire the full three course meal, not simply an appetiser.
