Ghostwoman have announced the release of a new album, which is actually goods news indeed. Welcome to the Civilized World, the name of the upcoming record, is scheduled to drop Sept 5th on the Full Time Hobby imprint. To coincide with the news, the group have also shared a new single titled ‘Alive’.

Whilst ‘Alive’ could firmly be placed in the indie rock category with it’s 90s style vocals, there is also a tinge of classic 60s garage that could be heard as well. Towards the end of the song you can a bit of noise rock added to the mix, overall making ‘Alive’ another killer offering from Ghostwoman.

Touching on ‘Alive’, Evan Uschenko stated:

“I was setting up a 12-string guitar and just started to play the chords. In the 60s bands like The Byrds were using 12-strings as a main instrument, so I was imagining that sort of sound – trying to play something that had that same type of feeling.”

Ille van Dessel added:

“Evan made the riff, I made the drums. It was very easy, almost just immediately done. I love the song because of the whole day behind it, its simplicity, how there’s nothing to overthink. It’s like when you get everyone lined up, you take a picture, and that’s it – it’ll always stay like that. It all made sense.”
