London-based singer Ellie Bleach brings an enjoyable dose of 70s pop in her latest single ‘I Thought I Saw You Last Night’. There is definitely a sense of nostalgia in the production, which could possibly be due to ABBA influence. Nevertheless, the peppy cut is built around infectious piano play with Ellie Bleach’s captivating storytelling consistently commanding the listener to go along for the ride of the song. One of the more enjoyable tunes revolving around the topic of heartache, you can stream ‘I Thought I Saw You Last Night’ down at the bottom.
Touching on the single, Ellie Bleach stated:
“‘I Thought I Saw You Last Night’ is about watching a former lover move on when they’re still at the forefront of your mind. I found out someone I was once involved with had a new girlfriend and kept fantasising about crashing their future wedding,” Ellie says. “There are parts of people that stay with you years after the relationship has finished, like hearing their favourite song play in a bar.”
