Norway’s Stian Westerhus has announced the released of his forthcomning album Redundance, which is out March 6th on House of Mythology. Having already shared the song ‘There’s A Light’ back in July of last year, which is taken from the new LP, Westerhus has now unveiled his latest single titled ‘Chase the New Morning’. Musically juggling between that which is beautiful and haunting, the song begins with sparse instrumentation, led by Stian Westerhus’ unique vocals, before exploding with a noise element of fizzing and crushing synths. Eventually returning to a calmer state, ‘Chase the New Morning’ is mental and musical journey that makes for an incredible record.
Touching on the new track, Stian Westerhus mentioned:
“‘Chase the New Morning’ is a song about the oppressive regime of China; it’s ways of controlling the masses through technology and finance. A new modern-life cultural revolution lifting millions out of poverty and into submission. Now, a year on from when I first wrote it, the song is a direct homage to the Hong Kong riots. Liberate Hong Kong. The revolution of our times.”
