American-born, Sweden-raised singer Mapei released her debut album ‘Hey Hey’ back in 2014. While time surely does fly, the artist went on to contribute vocals on projects like Diplo and Mark Ronson’s Silk City.
Mapei now makes her return with a lifting track titled ‘Rise Up’. Bridging modern electronica and pop with 70s soul, the single touches on the advantages of living in the digital era during turbulent political and social times. The song will be featured on Mapei’s forthcoming sophomore LP, scheduled to land in October.
Regarding the track, Mapei said:
“We’re currently living in very political times, which is often exacerbated by the digital age we live in. However, I also see the positive changes that are happening. Thanks to social media, people are coming together like never before. Empowering each other while educating others. I see it, and it gives me hope that we can encourage each other to accept who we are and just be ourselves.”
