London’s Anna Straker makes her return with a moody nod at the 90s with her new single ‘Ignite Me’. Taking Hip-Hop drum programming as the backbone as soul keys are gently placed on top whilst Straker takes the listener on a poetic storytelling journey. The song follows-up her stellar cover version of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’ which she shared earlier this year. Consistently wowing fans and critics with her wide range of talent, 2017 is going to be another big year for the artist.
Touching on ‘Ignite Me’, Anna Straker mentioned:
“Ignite Me is a little bit different to my other songs, so it’s been really cool to experiment with a more hip-hop influenced sound. The lyrics are about going out to a club and feeling like you don’t belong, everything’s a bit gross and you’re really aware of what’s happening around you. I really enjoyed writing the poetry for the verses, turning the dismal and melancholy aspects of night clubbing into something beautiful.”
