Whilst originally launching a dark acoustic sound around 2012, in 2014 Jill Krasnicki aka Animalia transcended to a more electronic influenced style spawning her debut album ‘Mouth Full of Teeth’. Now with her second LP (dissonance) set to land April 15th, the Australian-born, Toronto-based singer has shared a new track taken from the album. ‘Face On’ bridges electronic pop with Krasnicki’s earthy and unique vocal texture producing a warm and organic listening experience.
Touching on the lyrical content of ‘Face On’, in a press statement Animalia wrote:
“The world seems to toy with your emotions, picking you up and then dropping you back down just as quickly. ‘Face On’ plays with the idea of being in an actual relationship with the world β the world being the collective of life and itβs events β and in a moment of hopelessness I ask it how and why can it be so cruel and yet, how can I remain so deeply in love with it at the same time.”
(dissonance) will get released on Culvert Music.
