Celebrating Janelle Monáe and P!nk’s contribution to music at the Billboard Women In Music luncheon, Glasgow band Chvrches performed a cover of Monáe’s track “Tightrope”. While Janelle Monáe is truly in a league of her own, the trio decided to create a slower, synthpop version of the song rather than attempting to replicate the original sound and energy. At the end of the performance, Monáe goes up to Chvrches vocalist Lauren Mayberry and gives her a hug. Everything about Janelle Monáe equals awesome!
