It has literally been 9 years since the last Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ album ‘Mosquito’ dropped. While most fans probably assumed that another Yeah Yeah Yeahs LP would more than likely never manifest, as the old saying goes, “better late than never”. Surprisingly the group has announced news on their forthcoming album ‘Cool It Down’, landing September 30th on Secretly Canadian. The record is produced by long term collaborator Dave Sitek.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs have also unveiled a new video and single entitled ‘Spitting Off the Edge of the World’ which features Perfume Genius. The visuals are directed by Cody Critcheloe and feature Perfume Genius riding around in a limo with two women, seemingly living a cliche rock star lifestyle until everything goes wrong. Connecting with Karen O and the rest of the band, he goes more of the punk route, with the ending of the video finding Yeah Yeah Yeahs back to their core musical roots, playing a live show.
