On Saturday 22nd December Urban Nerds join forces with their old pals at Snowbombing Festival to invite their extended friends and family to a one-of-kind Christmas knees-up on board the MS Stubnitz, the infamous German deep-sea fishing vessel moored in iconic surroundings on The River Thames. Celebrating Urban Nerds’ return to the renowned Snowbombing Festival in 2013, they’ve collated a secret line-up of some of their favourite acts playing across two rooms in the hollow hull of this spectacular venue. Whilst one room bubbles with the freshest UK bass born sounds, the other will immerse in cutting edge garage, house and four-to-the-floor beats. This truly unique collaboration is a celebration that’s not to be missed.
The MS Stubnitz is a 2,541 ton ship that’s devoted over 20 years to hosting unique cultural arts and music events in its one-of-a-kind interior. Having toured Europe several times as a hub for the arts, the Stubnitz has hosted electronic giants such as Richie Hawtin and Ricardo Villalobos as well as bespoke programs such as 30 concerts in ten days at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival. This colossal boat has touched down in 15 different ports and ten countries across Northern Europe and now, for the time being resides in London’s Royal Docks, where it will play host to Urban Nerds’ not-to-be-missed Christmas event and one of the first event offerings on board the venue since its arrival in the city.
Desperados are also on board to keep the bar flowing. The unique tequila-flavoured beer is sponsoring the Urban Nerds Christmas Party for one last foray into the world of cutting edge electronic music before the end of 2012. Following their UK festivals tour, Desperados is set to round off the year with a truly unexpected and energetic night to celebrate the festive season.
In 2013 Urban Nerds head back to the mountains of Mayhrofen to join Snowbombing for the fifth year running bringing with them a line-up worthy of five years on the slopes!
