Trudy and the Romance Return with ‘The Last Rodeo’

Last year Liverpool’s Trudy and the Romance released their debut LP Sandman, a musical collage of 50s-inspired Doo-Wop, hazy indie and more. The band made their return with the track ‘Angel’ a couple months back which was taken from a double A-side record. They now share the second track titled ‘The Last Rodeo’.

For this handing, Trudy and the Romance tap into more of a country sound, blending it with cool-out indie. The mixture is quite seamless. The direction makes complete sense considering that Trudy and the Romance were already fostering hybrids that bridge the modern with that of old. Below is a stream of ‘The Last Rodeo’.

Touching on the song, Trudy and the Romance stated:

“It felt like it was time to smash through the glass, grab the jewels and run baby!

But is it always gonna be one last rodeo? Do you keep running a thousand miles or stick around for a hustle you may never understand.

Nobody can get along in this world alone – be a fool for somebody
You can’t keep waiting for the next voyage to be over. You are captain of the ship and your days are already here.”
