London/Glasgow post-punk trio Shopping are gearing up for the release of their new LP ‘All Or Nothing’, out February 7th via Fat Cat Records. One of the songs that will be featured on the record is their latest single ‘For Your Pleasure’. An ode to letting go of material things that are only temporary satisfying, the sonic marriage of post-punk, new wave and minimal synth act as the perfect musical palette for the potent and must-needed lyrics.
Touching on the song, Shopping wrote:
“‘For Your Pleasure’ is a song about frustration, the feeling of always wanting more, needing material things to distract or gratify us. It’s about consumerism but also searching for meaning in life. That feeling of longing that never really goes away even when you have the things, the job, the status or the person you thought you wanted. I think people who create music or art know what that feels like particularly.”{
