Osunlade
Pyrography
Yoruba Records
Osunlade is a prophet of music. Nomadic in a sense, there is no telling where the U.S. born, Greece residing producer may end up next. Maybe his travels are a part of his spiritual message in the music.
Osunlade’s latest full length album “Pyrography” is a reflection of those the beauty and trials of love but in a sort of almost subliminal manner. This record falls nothing short of perfection. It would be safe to say that this uplifting, organically made house music at its best. It simply moves you.
Tracks such as “Yeku Yeku”,with its sound of African rhythms, soulful keys and a soothing bassline, feels like your’re engaged in a sonic cleansing. “The Distance” has a deep, tech incorporated sound while still maintaining the element of a spacey bounce sprinkled with the blessings. Osunlade continues to brilliantly blend future tech and soul with the track “Envision”. Many of the songs have the theme of relationships but Osunlade keeps the vocalization of the topic subtle, mostly in the hooks. The music acts as the messenger. There is however, a nice number of full vocal tracks on the album, one being the galactic synth sounding “No Way”.
Osunlade has stated that this will be his last house album. If this is true, then “Pyrography” is an immaculate finishing of a long left legacy.
