D Double E
Bluku! Bluku!
Dirtee Stank Recordings
Anyone who knows anything about grime music knows that D Double E is a legend in the scene…period. From the radio days of Deja Vu to representing the Newham Generals, the East London emcee has created some of the most original bars in the scene and has tore down raves throughout the UK. Finally D Double E has released the “Bluku! Bluku!” EP, which has been highly anticipated since 2010. From the title track featuring Dirtee Stank head honcho Dizzee Rascal which, to describe the dirty bassline, skippy high hat track as grimey would be an understatement, to “Be Like Me” which could be considered dubstep meeting snap, this record gets back to the basics of grime! The track “Flava” finds D Double E back on a drum and bass rhythm that, for many people who are kKnowledgeable, understands that this is also a part of D’s roots.
While a number of emcees who started out in the house of grime have vacated it, D Double E has taken the London sound and simply pushed it forward.
