Toronto's Austra is gearing up for the release of her new album 'Future Politics', out January 20th via Domino Records. Having shared the track 'Utopia' last month, London producer Ikonika now transforms the single into a thumping future bass meets grime remix. Using stretched synths to coincide with slow, skippy drums, this version is a head-nodder that will make you want to turn your speakers up quite loud. Check it out.
The latest video for Austra's single 'Utopia' is definitely a weird one. Sure some people will find that being in an all-white room knocking over a glass of water and eating worms a utopian experience, we're going to say that it kind of resembles either a take on heaven or a modern psych ward. The video is directed by Noe and Paul & Stefan Moore of That Go.
Remember the days when The Weeknd released NSFW type videos that either contained a vast amount of hedonism or slightly violent imagery. Well it seems as if he's returned to his old self with his latest Ilya Naishuller-directed video 'False Alarm'. Whilst there isn't much happening in terms of hedonistic episodes, there is a whole heap of violence as the video is shot from a first person perspective and entails a group of men robbing a bank, shooting people and having a battle with authorities. It kind of looks like a live version of a video game.

Toronto band ROMES deliver a quite bizarre video for their song 'Tryna Be'. The Mafalda Millies-directed visuals feature a woman dressed in a strange costume trekking through various parts of New York City performing dance moves. From restaurants to the park, she dances clear from day to night! 'Tryna Be' is taken from ROMES' debut EP 'Believe'. Check it out.
